Building Materials + Jobsite Deliveries

At Red Dog’s inception, flatbed work was, and remains to be a big sector of our business. Of the thousands of loads moved per month, about 65% of them move on flatbeds. In addition to our flatbed expertise, we have mastered the art of communication because several clients rely on that careful planning and communication to make delivery within a short window to a remote job-site. Our operations team understands the time sensitive nature of these loads and know that making the crew wait onsite is a failure. Red Dog makes hundreds of job-site deliveries per year and is proud to be the leading provider for this time sensitive work.

Critical Capacity

Today's freight market requires swift action to secure trucks for shippers' high demand. For customers that need same-day loads, next-day loads, and even emergency last-minute recovery loads, we have a dedicated group of experts that are committed to getting trucks when you need them. With time-critical market intel, real-time rating, and guaranteed communication every step of the way why wouldn't you run with the dog? The feedback from our current customers has been outstanding, we’d like to be able to offer this service to you as well.

We have made changes to the tracking of the order. We already have been using macropoint for tracking any order, but now we have also added a new option of tracking order, i.e Google Maps Location sharing. Here a user in TMS needs to make sure one of the tracking is being used to track an order or else the carrier will be charged during the billing process.

So to use Google Maps Location Sharing is very easy to use. Here are the following steps for using Google Maps Location Sharing:

STEP 1:

Enable Driver Google Maps Tracking option in order screen, here is the preview of the check box and how it looks like

Make sure to check the box to use the Driver Google Maps Tracking functionality

NOTE: ONCE YOU CHECK THE BOX OF THE DRIVER GOOGLE MAPS TRACKING, SYSTEM WILL AUTOMATICALLY DISABLE MACROPOINT FUNCTIONALITY. SO USERS CAN EITHER USE ONE. USERS CANNOT USE BOTH THE FUNCTIONALITIES AT A TIME.

NOTE: IF A CARRIER IS ALLOWED TO COMPLETE THE ORDER WITHOUT TRACKING, USERS CAN ALLOW CARRIERS TO COMPLETE ORDER WITHOUT TRACKING AND APPLYING ANY PENALTY DURING INVOICING. USERS NEED TO CHECK OFF THE CHECK BOX “EXCLUDE MACROPOINT” FROM CARRIER PROFILE. EACH CARRIER HAS THIS OPTION IN THEIR PROFILE.

BELOW IS THE PREVIEW OF THE CHECKBOX IN CARRIER PROFILE.

STEP 2:

Users need to make sure they include the driver cellphone number in the order screen. Below is the preview of the field and where it is located in the order screen

STEP 3:

Once the carrier is assigned and Carrier Driver cellphone number is added, users need to “ADD”/”UPDATE” (according to order or shipment) the order, Users need to go back to orderwork and then click on the “SMS” icon on the row of the order.

STEP 4:

Select “TRACKING REQUEST” as message template and it will preview a message with order details and also guidance for carrier drivers how to share a google maps location.

Here is the preview of the “TRACKING REQUEST” template, and the message within the template. And user need to click on “SUBMIT” button to send the message

And then once the user clicks on the “SUBMIT” button, it will send the message to the driver on the driver cell phone number which was used in the order screen. And here is the preview of how the message template looks after it has been sent.

STEP 5:

Once the driver shares the google location on sms, Reddog Tms will automatically store the link of the location against the order

and the system will show the tracking icon on the orderwork page, and here is the preview of the icon and this icon is clickable, once clicked it will show the current location of the driver.

STEP 6:

When generating the bill or invoice if the driver didn’t send a tracking link he will  be penalized $25.
